About Us

The 15 to Fit Method ™ was developed by founder Patrea Aeschliman from over 35 years of experience practicing and teaching in Strength and Conditioning, Pilates, Garuda Method, Yoga, Feldenkrais Method, Gymnastics conditioning and Qi Gong.

Stephanie Loveira is a Contributing Developer of 15 to Fit Method ™ using techniques and wisdom acquired from her 35 years in professional dance and Pilates.

The 15 to Fit Method ™differs from traditional Pilates in the following ways:The majority of the Method consists of Multiplanar movements

the 15 to Fit Method™ Difference

Involves more spinal extension and articulation

Helps to release hip flexors as you strengthen abdominals

Involves more rotational movement of the spine

You don’t have to dismiss everything you’ve learned teaching Pilates to learn the 15 to Fit Method™. While you are learning the new series and exercises you can add it to the repertoire and series you already know from Pilates. That is the beauty of using Pilates reformers that you already own. Initially you may teach 45 minutes of reformer work that you are comfortable with and 15 minutes of the new material. Eventually as you learn the method you can weave it into classes and client sessions. You grow to teach 45 minutes of multiplanar movements and 15 minutes of standard reformer work.

This is how we incorporated it at the 15 to Fit studios during the pandemic. Our clients definitely wanted to do movements that they were used to and had confidence in, then we gradually increased the amount of multiplanar movements in our workouts. Now, oftentimes, they do almost the entire session doing Multiplanar movements but they don’t really know it. It just becomes what they know how to do.

Testimonials...

The 15toFit Method is rather genius in my opinion. The emphasis on energy, strength, and mobility in 15 minute segments is brilliant. The method emphasizes three-dimensional and multiplanar movements and pushes me to work hard and I feel great at the end. AND we have fun!

Wes Waggener, PhD, CSCS, NCPT

15 to Fit has changed my life! I’ve never committed to anything as long as this, not even my ex-husband. I’ve lost 85 pounds and kept it off for over 2 years. I do 15 to Fit Method Pilates 4x per week. I am so much stronger than I have been in decades! I’ve improved so much that I was even able to get up wake surfing, which I’ve never done before and I’m 50. Try it for yourself. You’ll love the results.

Jessica B.

I get so much more out of doing 15 to Fit Method. I feel much stronger and can see more muscle definition. I’ve noticed it in activities like putting away the jet skis and the boat, I have more strength to pull and push them into place. I LOVE IT! It’s super fun and it’s had a great effect on my mental health. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I’m finished with my session and an endorphin rush.

Innovative Reformer I

Learn how to safely, effectively and efficiently perform and teach Multiplanar Movements on the reformer.  These series help our clients replicate authentic human movement.  You may recognize some of these movements from martial arts, chi gong, dance and even swimming.

You will learn the system we use at 15 to Fit Method- a few minutes to warm up, 15 minutes of Energy exercises, 15 minutes of Toning exercises and 15 minutes of Mobility for a complete 50-minute session.

This system helps you to organize the material in a manageable way.

  • The Energy Segment is 15 minutes of whole body movement exercises that increase the heart rate and improve cardiorespiratory fitness.  Examples of reformer exercises include multiplanar lunges, unique plank variations on the carriage, “typewriter” push-ups and kneeling arm series.
  • The Toning Segment is 15 minutes of exercises to improve overall strength.   This segment of the course will focus on multiplanar movements primarily for the upper body.  It will include unique rowing movements, a “Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon” movement similar to Cat/Cow,  Pulling Movements,  and Pushing Movements that help clients to engage in their lats, rhomboids and rotator cuff muscles more readily without over utilizing their upper trapezius.
  • The Mobility Segment is 15 minutes of dynamic, multiplanar movements that safely increase mobility of the entire body.  The flowing nature of these movements also help to create a relaxing mood through the body and mind. Examples of Mobility work include Extended Mermaid Series,  Kneeling Slide Series and Single Leg Foot Loop Series.

The course materials include:

  • One workout series for each segment plus some additional exercises.
  • Break down videos for all of the exercises included in each workout segment and the extra exercise.
  • Descriptive manuals with clear professional pictures for each exercise.
  • Written exam about the exercises and workouts.
  • One 90- minute Evaluation and Feedback session with a 15 to Fit Method™ Master Instructor.  (In person or Zoom session)

live training

  • 20 hours of live training is included.
  • Live training is biweekly on Thursdays from two to 4:30 PM Eastern time
  • Via Zoom, or in person for those in the area.

These series are not typical classical or even contemporary Pilates exercises but an entirely innovative approach to training on Pilates equipment.  You will learn a system that incorporates flowing, body-wave type movements and more torso flexion, extension and rotation in varied planes of movement.  They are surprisingly easy to teach even to beginners and clients that have trouble with coordinated movement.

FAQ

What Equipment do I need for 15 to Fit Method™ Innovative Reformer courses?

  • You just need a reformer. For example you can use a standard size reformer and a short box for the Lunge series.
  • The Method is maximized if it is possible to have a platform such as add a platform for the Allegro 2 or the added platform for Stott reformers.
  • It’s also preferable if you can get the footbar out of the way for the platform addition.
  • There are many brands of Pilates Reformers that fit this description. It doesn’t have to be a Balanced Body reformer.
  • To maximize use for loops the F.I.T. kits added to a Tower make all of the variations in the 15 to Fit Method™ possible. However, many of these variations can be performed with the lower set risers.
